One can safely say that Ra.one had enough ingredients to make a riveting, entertaining film. What Ra.one lacks is good writing and direction. The screenplay, which has been understandably written to ensure maximum comprehension amongst the widest possible audience, is sadly uninspiring. It tends to sag at places, unnecessarily slowing down the pace of the film

If the movie has anything to boast of apart from the unavoidable and disturbing efforts of Shahrukh Khan to present his dossier as a superhero, it would be the visual appeal of the movie – SFX and all. The brief appearances of Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra could barely...

If this is what made the man age overnight to a shadow of his previous self, and money was all that mattered anyway, all we can say is: Happy Diwali, Aryan.

Final few words : Ra.One is a dream of Shahrukh that might turn into a nightmare for some and for some like me it would be a case of the film meeting expectations that were very low to begin with.

Ticket Meter : Worth 150 bucks.

While I can go on (and on) about why this film is not what it could have been, I have to admit I got what I expected – a decent desi masala entertainer. This film is like some giant Bollywood-ian stew : there is emotion, drama, (lowbrow and borderline vulgar) humor, romance, there is Tamil and Rajnikanth to keep the Southerners happy, and Karva Chauth to appease the Northeners, and virtual reality gaming and a child artiste to keep the younger set interested. It’s like SRK and team brainstormed the precise mix of masala to pull in every potential patron, and then built up a storyline to fit everything in. It is colorful and out there, but it’s not very pretty or polished.
