She's a user, he's a loser. In each of the three couples. Thank goodness for some decent lines and situations that make it a decent date film.

Pyar ka Punchnama, on the face of it, looks like just another loser romcom flick. But debutant director Luv Ranjan presents it with so much more believability than a regular Hindi flick. The endearing trio's (Liquid, Chaudhary, Rajjo) bromance reminds you of Dil Chahta Hai and they, along with Neha (Nushrat Barucha of LSD fame) keep the film going. The other two girls, Charu and Rhea, struggle to act throughout and are, at the most, unimpressive.

Liquid (played by Divyendu Sharma) is natural, spontaneous and the most likeable of the lot. Everything about him - be it the ease with which he throws up a breathless volley of profanities at his dear friend Rajjo or his sudden behavioural change to impress his office crush - is amusing. Rajjo's six-minute long monologue (in the second half) on how women always outsmart men is sure to have you in splits.

Against a hilarious first half, the second half is relatively slow (n slightly overboard) and stretched with songs thrown in. The background score, though, is sooper and blends smoothly with the film. Overall, though, its two hours well spent. Definitely a one-time watch!
