Housefull 2 (Hindi)
Release Date:
April 06, 2012It is the story of four fathers, four daughters and four prospective son-in-laws and they are the dirty dozen.
Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest son-in-law. Each daughter thinks she is marrying the richest son-in-law. Each son-in-law is pretending to be the richest son-in-law. Each character is flawed, unscrupulous and extremely entertaining.
However, none of these people can stand each other and all of them are under one roof, in one house as the first half of the title suggests
This film doubles the star-cast of the first Housefull and amplifies the buffoonery. An excruciating experience!
Watch if you have nothing better to do.
Housefull 2 is nothing more and nothing less that what you'd expect from it. you know the director and his genre, so you know how you'll like the film. I was a tiny bit surprised with the momentum maintained in the chaos. But an 'aah...interesting' kind of a surprise doesn't necessarily make it a fun experience.
[a pointless movie]
Housefull 2 (2012)
IMDB-5.6
2 rival half brothers compete to get the best groom for their daughters..
Starring- Akshay Kumar,Rishi,Ritesh,Asin
Director- Sajid Khan
Housefull 2 has nothing to do with the first Housefull ,other than the same cast and a big house...The first housefull was rubbish but the second half was sort of good...Housefull 2 isnt like that..Its complete garbage, from the start to the end...
Acting was horrible...The saving grace are the elder folks Rishi & Randhir Kapoor were good ...Akshay's dialogue are set to the minimum..A couple of grunts & 4-5 dialogues repeated over and over again..Ritesh & Shreyas have the exact same role..All they have to do is scream...John is just useless..The actress are completely useless..Asin & Jacqueline are the worst actresses..Shazam & Zarine have no roles...
Story? Nothing of that sort...Housefull2 is just a compilation of skits and the story is made as and when its shot..Making sense of this movie is useless..The logic behind the whole scenario is totally absent...Problems that are raised and treated as big deals in the whole movie is solved within a minute either to start another problem or just to end the whole movie..
Direction is absent...Sajid Khan just keeps forming lame skits to keep the movie going...He may not even have had a script the whole time...Skits just keep starting and ending without no reason nor having any comedy..The movie is not only a rom-com ,it has over the top melodrama..
A complete waste of time, the movie is one of the worst...

In its opening scene, we are shown how 2 brothers (Randhir and Rishi) absolutely hate each other's guts. The reason? Randhir is 'najaayaz'. The stepson! That in itself tells you how old fashioned, repetitive and unrealistic this film is going to be. Not that I was expecting any realistic and original wonders from Sajid Khan, but Housefull 2 has got to be one of the most illogical, dull, and sensless movies I have ever seen. It has no story whatsoever and its plot (which makes no sense at all) is so far from reality that it makes it impossible to take anything happening in it seriously.
The 'story', or whatever I could make out of it, is basically about the above mentioned brothers (Randhir & Rishi) trying to find the richest son-in-law for their daughters Bobby (Jacqueline) and Heena (Asin) in order to make each other Jealous. In comes Shreyas Talpade who, in order to take revenge on Rishi Kapoor for giving his father a heart attack, goes to Jolly (Ritish). He wants Jolly to pretend to marry Rishi's daughter and then not go through with it at the last moment. Jolly, you see is the son of JD (Mithun), the richest man in UK. But Jolly is too scared of his dad to go through with it. So in come Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, both pretending to be Jolly to Rishi and Randhir, respectively. There is also Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamsee and Boman Irani playing completely clueless characters in the film.
Housefull 2 is labelled as a 'comedy', but the humor in it is anything but funny. The quality of the humor is really REALLY bad. Take for instance, the scene where Ritish Deshmukh's rear is getting bit by a crocodile while Shreyas Talpade's crotch gets sucked by a python, or characters saying stuff like 'I got your virgin, I mean version' and 'Jolly meet Dolly, Dolly meet Jolly, lets play holi'. None of this humor is even remotely good or funny. And if this bad humor wasn't enough, Housefull 2 is filled with racist, homophobic, and insensitive tendencies. So we get a scene where Rishi Kapoor is making fun of Shreyas Talpade's father's dark skin, and another where we see Mithun running around a dwarf maid after supposedly getting smitten by her (probably the most bizzare and offensive thing I have ever seen). I can take offensive jokes easily if they are even remotely funny, but sadly as mention above, here they are neither funny nor original.
The acting in this movie is ridiculously bad.
John Abraham leads the pack with the worst performence amongst the male cast. His performence makes it look like there is a 6 year old girl stuck inside his body. Shreyas Talpade is a close 2nd who, with this performence, makes sure that we completely forget about all of his riveting performences in the past (Iqbal, Dor). He is painfully bad in every frame. Ritish and Akshay are average, tolerable for the most part. Legends like Rishi and Randhir are not able to do anything to justify that tag largely because of their characters being so badly written. The Kapoor brothers (specially Rishi) are agonizingly bad. Boman Irani is loud and annoying in a thankfully short role. Johnny Lever is repetitive and lame. Chunky Pandy is the worst thing in this movie! All his scenes are too agonizing and painful to even write about. His scenes should seriously be considered as a form of 3rd degree torture by our cops! Mithun is the saving grace in the male cast, except for that climax scene where his JD transforms into Jagga Daku (dont ask!). The women apparently were all in a pouting contest the whole time. All 4 of them are bad. Asin and Jacqueline make the film look like an AD for a botox company. Shazahn and Zarine are mercifully not given much to do. They both do, however, still get the award for the worst performence of the year, which they'll have to share with Chunky Pandey. Did none of these actors read the script even once before signing it? Do they have no concerns at all about how bad they'll be looking? Are the paychecks worth signing such illogical movies? If money is the only thing that drives these 'actors' to take on a project (no matter how bad), then they really need to reconsider what they are doing if they ever hope or dream of having careers that will not only be remembered, but also looked back upon.
I am going with a generous 1.5 out of 10 for Sajid Khan's Housefull 2. It Belongs to that group of movies that makes you wonder if anyone even bothered to look at them before they got released. Crude, crass and simply disgusting, Housefull 2 is a new low for the so called 'comedies' that have started cluttering bollywood. Its bad even by Sajid Khan's standards.
