Love, loyalty, hatred - themes that could've been so much more than heavy lines delivered in a heavy tone
Overall badly plotted movie
only akshay kumar rocks... I m not a big fan of akshay but really in this movie he has done a great job as a badass villain...... On the other hand movie seems like a work of an amateur..... Not better than the 1st
As, most of the times, it is expected out of the sequels to be not as good as the prequels, Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara disappoints a big time. I didn't find anything like it was being shown in the trailers.
A JOKER like Akshay Kumar sucked big time in the role of a gangster. My friend, Manish, And others around me were all showering praises about someone who calls himself a villain. Aren't villains supposed to be hated?
And just don't talk about Imran Khan. I thought Milan saw something in him that he decided to cast Imran in a big franchisee like OUATIMD. But he was a disaster for the movie. Let him be there for those like I Hate Luv Storys or Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
And Sonakshi Sinha was who really stole the show. After watching her in Lootera, It was expected. And an always-hyper Mahesh Manjrekar also was convincing but you don't get much of him too see. He was the main objective of the Don's return to the city but director forgot him, too lost in the love triangle.
And the music. Well, I just remenber only one song from the movie, Tayab Ali Pyar Ka Dushman Haye Haye. Rest of the songs, Well I don't know about them. Another disappointment. And I remember each and every song of its prequel. Casting was unexpected. Totally contrary what I went thinking for.
After the interval, I almost thought of leaving. tired of waiting for much advertised fight of the two leads. When it comes, it just goes like that only. Most of the time, Akshay keeps delivering dialogues about his status and the Things which Bura-Maan-Jayengi. Friendship between Imraan and his friend, Dedh Taang was good. I am a fan of Sonali Bendre, She justifies whatever role she is given.
At last, a love story with an expected end. No Good music. Sucking acting (Not Sonakshi) and a dangling script make it just a one time watch. If you are a fan, like my friend Manish, of feeling gangsta style, then you can get some of it. Good thing was that there was no show according to my schedule at the nearest multiplex, so we went to a single screen. Worth 40 bucks
