We are happy. We are just a bunch of 'mango' people who are happy to be in a theater after a long hiatus. So happy are we that there is at least something to watch, to draw us to the halls, that we don't mind the "open head; keep brain aside in safety; close head; watch film" drill. Yeah-yeah-yeah the comedy is not bad, or let's just say it's better than what one would expect from this team. And it’s the sight of an oasis in a desert. And thirsty we were.
After coming back from watching this film, I had to regain my sanity by watching the timeless Golmal by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Another film on lies & the confusion they create. But that’s where the similarity ends. For Golmal is exquisitely crafted. The characters are quirky, but real. The situations are madcap, but so believable. The director’s honesty is striking. Housefull stands at the other end of the spectrum on all these counts.
When a director calls his film Housefull you know he cares a damn about the opinion of the critics & knows that they will make a fun of the title. I didn’t like hey baby so; I was not expecting anything from this one. I had thought Sajid was very overconfident when he s...aid this film will be a bigger hit than hey baby and, the promo for this film was so misleading that i walked in thinking this is one of those boring films on marriage ,infidelity, two timing, three timing etc. but i was completely surprised with it's narrative. Housefull is not laugh out loud but it’s funny and it entertains. What works for the film are the actors, who seem to be enjoying themselves completely and also the screenplay. Sajid Khan has coated the film with one mad set piece after another.there is never a dull moment. akshay kumar has underplayed his part perfectly, riteish is wickedly funny, lara is a surprise, deepika & arjun are ok. jiah is wasted & randhir kapoor is fabulous. sajid khan has grown up on the film of 70’s & 80's and with his 2nd film he proves that his only commandment in life is thou shall entertain. Final few words: Housefull is like that bad pj which you laugh your heart out on and then say “kya bakwaas joke tha†*** (Good)
Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Jiah Khan - Oh girl, you’re mine! Sounds not a prayer? Not if you carry through the over-the-top laugh riot of this summer – Housefull. I locked my brain in my Hajmola-bottle before leaving for the movie and washed down a few of the tablets too, so that i don’t crib later on like a studious critic. Eeeeeew!
Its really disappointing.I never thought of Sajid Khan can cheat us.Its not that entertaining one should expect from Sajid Khan and Akshaye Kumar's movie.First part is nothing and second half pulls some scenes but all over a disappointing multistarrer flick. The film's comedy is of confusion and misunderstanding but leave it.Ajay Devgan starrer film All The Best is far better comedy on this note. And even far better performance.
Only Chunky Pandey and Boman Irani has delivered good fun. Over all less than average movie.Quality of Sajid khan and Sajid Nadiawala has gone down.
