It is the story of three friends and is based in the city of Ahmedabad. The plot sees a young boy in Ahmedabad named Govind dream of starting a business. To accommodate his friends Ishaan (the central character) and Omi's passion, cricket, they open a cricket goods and training shop. However, each has a different motive: Govind's goal is to make money; Ishaan desires to nurture Ali, a gifted batsman; Omi just wants to be with his friends. The events that transpire against the backdrop of all that occurred in the city during that time, change the lives of each of the friends in very different ways.

Zilla Ghaziabad is based on the gang war between two powerful rival groups of Gurjars, one led by Satbir Gurjarl (Vivek Oberoi) and the other led by Mahender Fauji Bainsla (Arshad Warsi) during the 1990s and the role of controversial police officer, Pritam Singh (Sanjay Dutt). The film is based on a series of real life incidents that happened in the 90`s in Ghaziabad. Mahendra Fauji Bainsla was an ex- Indian Army official and had participated in the Indo-Pak 1965 and 1971 war.

The story follows Jayantabhai (Vivek Oberoi), a street-thug and small time gangster, who unexpectedly falls in love with his worst enemy, played by Neha Sharma.

A hot-shot fashion and wildlife photographer Vikram (Randeep Hooda) gets into a relationship with a waitress from a lounge, Nisha (Sara Loren). She moves in with him in his palatial house outside of the city. The old world house, made decades ago is as beautiful as scary it is. It holds many secrets which Nisha is soon to unearth; of the life of the man who made it and of Vikram, who is dealing with the mysterious disappearance of his former girlfriend Roshni (Aditi Rao)

For Vishnu (Prabhudheva), widely regarded as India's best dancer, dance is more than a passion - it's the reason he lives! So when he finds himself thrown out from the swish dance academy he himself set up, by his manipulative business partner, it feels like the oxygen has been sucked out from the air he breathes. Heart-broken, Vishnu decides to give up dance and leave Mumbai forever. However the night before his departure he witnesses a most amazing sight - a group of dancers preparing for the upcoming Ganpati Dance Battle - an annual festival that pits Mumbai's best dance groups against each other. Watching the raw talent of these amazing dancers helps Vishnu arrive at a decision - he will take this disparate group under his wing, help them overcome their personal rivalries and past demons and turn them into India's best dance squad!
